By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Define Embodied Care and describe its application in promoting sustainable wellness practices for Black women healing from trauma.
Identify the cultural, historical, and systemic factors contributing to body disconnection and disembodiment in Black communities and examine theoretical frameworks that support these contexts.
Apply the Embodied Care framework to help clients build body trust, redefine nourishment, and create sustainable care practices.
Incorporate evidence-based, experiental and somatic-based tools and practices that support sustainable healing, including grounding, movement invitations, nourishment practices, and rest integration.
Shift from a pathology-centered approach to a liberation-centered, culturally sensitive model of care that honors the whole person’s lived experience.
